Russian Delegation Visit ANF Headquarters – 27 March, 2012

On 27 Mar 2012, a high level six member Russian delegation headed by Mr Viktor Petrovich Ivanov, Director Russian Federation Services on Narcotics Control visited Headquarters Anti Narcotics Force, Pakistan. Russian Ambassador H.E. Mr Andrey Budnik, also honored the occasion. Significant members of Pakistani delegates were Haji Khuda Bakhsh Rajjar, Federal Minister for Narcotics Control, Mr Zafar Abbas, Secretary Ministry of Narcotics control and Major General Syed Shakeel Hussain, Director General Anti Narcotics Force.

Both the delegations shared prevalent drug situation in the region, best practices being followed and areas of mutual concern. Visit is extension of bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed in October 2010 and is basically aimed at further strengthen the ongoing cooperation.

Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Meeting – 29 February, 2012

4th Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) Meeting of was held on February 29, 2012 at Headquarters ANF under the chairmanship of Director General ANF, Major General Syed Shakeel Hussain. The meeting was attended by senior representatives of all members of LEAs / Departments. Need for cooperation and intelligence sharing regarding narcotics control was emphasized. The participants shared the performance of their respective departments and also proffered proposals to enhance cooperation in combating drug trafficking in the country.
